Internet Services Research Specialist
As an active member of the Internet Services Team, the Research Specialist will research, write, and re-evaluate national, state, and local content and data utilized by Imagitas online and offline (print based) products. The Research Associate will develop deep knowledge of selected research channels and will serve as the expert about that content and how it should be presented to consumers. S/he will also conduct quality assurance testing and support other Internet Services activities to ensure that the needs of our strategic partners, our providers, and our customers are met with the highest quality and according to schedule.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Build expertise in selected channels of government information. Provide expertise to project teams and businesses that will use that content in their products.
- Research, understand, and write the content utilized by our products. The research process includes a number of steps:
- Initial research, collected primarily using the Internet
- Building and maintaining relationships with national, state, and local government officials to collect feedback and gain approval when needed
- Content writing in a clear, consumer-friendly style
- Organizing and formatting content to meet site structural and navigational requirements
- Quality assurance, with accountability for meeting Imagitas. quality standards. Be prepared to defend the quality at any point in time; understand how the content is presented on the site. Exhibit true pride in delivering publishable-quality, accurate information that will meet the needs of all Imagitas constituencies (government partners, clients and customers).
- Proofing & editing so that all data published by Imagitas is error-free and follows industry standards for grammar and usage.
- Re-evaluation and updating of content that requires qualitative evaluation and rewrites. The updating schedule varies by subject and may be as frequent as monthly.
- Provide expertise to the Imagitas e-Customer Care group. Provide training for e-Customer Care Associates and a vendor when they need deep knowledge of particular content. Respond to customer inquiries when elevated from the internal group. Make recommendations for improving content based on customer feedback supplied by e-Customer Care.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and usability sessions for new or existing businesses
- Participate in other Internet Services projects including but not limited to:
- Supporting e-Customer Care
- Internal QA of other sites
- Reviewing affiliate program applications
- Perform other business activities as directed
REQUIREMENTS
- Web savvy with strong research experience using the Internet
- Ability to work on detailed projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Publishable consumer-friendly writing and editing skills
- Strong organizational, research and analytical skills
- Total commitment to accuracy and detail
- Excellent PC skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, database applications, and Internet Explorer.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Understands basic U.S. national, state, and local government structures
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's Degree. Preferred: Concentration in research, English, or a government-related field
EXPERIENCE
Required: Experience in research and consumer focused writing/editing.
Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects that include strong research and writing abilities and establishing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with a variety of people.
